BMW X3 News

The BMW X3 is a great alternative for sport sedan shoppers who desire just a bit more utility from their compact luxury vehicle. As is typical for a small luxury crossover SUV, the X3 offers a high seating position, all-wheel-drive traction, solid build quality and abundant equipment. However, it goes a few steps further with sweet six-cylinder engines and above-average handling one wouldn't normally expect from an SUV.
Now in its second generation, the current BMW X3 is a greatly improved vehicle but it also has significantly more competitors than it used to. As such, the X3 isn't the easy choice it once was. But the new model and most years of the first-generation X3 should remain near the top of your short list of choices.
The BMW X3 is available in two models, which correspond to engine. The xDrive28i gets a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-6 that produces 240 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The xDrive35i has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 good for 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. Every X3 features all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The latter slings through gears with buttery, quiet ease and returns impressive fuel economy considering the engines' power.
While the X3 may be smaller and cheaper than the X5, you won't feel short-changed inside, as almost the same high-quality materials and construction are present, while the features list includes luxuries like heated rear seats and steering wheel, Bluetooth streaming audio, multiview parking cameras and a premium sound system. Like other recent BMWs, the X3 can be outfitted with adjustable drive settings that alter the tune of the suspension, steering, transmission and throttle response. We would skip it, however, as the car's standard tuning strikes a better balance than any of the three available drive programs.
BMW tunes in the very best of sport and luxury, mixing them both together to create a roster that still continues to dominate. Pushing the envelope, so to speak, is sometimes an obstacle. Everywhere you look, it seems there are just way too many options.  Ignore them for a moment. Use tunnel vision. While there might be a host of beautiful modifications you can make, custom BMW Spoilers never disappoint. And that is because of the versatility a BMW Spoiler presents. It doesn’t necessarily have to say “street racer” or appear as some Gen-X upgrade. One can also provide an enhanced suggestion of luxury, taste. There is no fancy guessing-game involved here. To achieve the look you desire, all you have to is find the style that matches your vehicle best!
CARiD.com makes the entire process easy on you. When you click on your Model Name shown above, you’ll soon find yourself knee-deep in our inventory of Rear Spoilers, Lip Spoilers, and Rear-Roof Wings, all primed and ready to meet your demands. BMW 3 Series News

Peter Nefischer, head of engine development for BMW, has said the automaker is currently working on developing three-cylinder engines to be used across the company's vehicle line.  The powerplants would likely be different than the one found in the BMW i8 and wouldn't be partnered with an electric motor. Instead, engineers would turn to forced induction to maintain acceptable power levels. Nefischer said engineers have gone as far as possible with current engine technology, and the next step is smaller, more powerful variants.
So, when can we expect to see a three-cylinder 3 Series hit the streets? According to the report, the vehicle could be here in two years. BMW has already demonstrated the sort of gains that can be made by dropping cylinder count. Just look at the F30 328i with the vehicle's impressive power and fuel economy as an example. Will BMW bring 3 Series to the table with half the cylinders of the tried-and-true I6? Stranger things have happened.

BMW 3 Series

A few images of the new Chinese-market long-wheelbase BMW 3 Series have made their way to the web. The vehicle's profile clearly shows a few extra inches of room for rear passengers, though the additional space between the front and rear wheels doesn't infringe too heavily on the sedan's design.
With a slightly longer rear door and expanded rear cabin, the BMW 335Li is designed for buyers who would rather be driven than drive. That's a big plus for the chauffeur-oriented Chinese luxury vehicle market. From what we hear, the vehicle is headed toward an official debut at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show in April.
In addition to more rear legroom, the BMW 335Li will likely feature a new 8.8-inch freestanding control display mounted atop the vehicle's dash. An auto start-stop system is expected to debut on the vehicle to help increase fuel economy, and a blind-spot awareness system is expected to be standard equipment, as well. Head over to the F30Post.com forums for a better look at the elongated 3 Series.

2012 BMW 3-series Sports Wagon

2012 BMW 3-series Sports Wagon. At press time, BMW hadn't yet shown the 3 Series replacement, but we've seen spy photos of it for over a year. Not surprisingly, the current generation has received little change for 2012, as all development is ongoing for the new car.  The coupe, retractable hardtop convertible and sedan versions of the 328, 335 and M3 continue as they are with some package changes and the standard inclusion of Bluetooth. Gone for 2012, however, is the M3 sedan and turbodiesel engine option. A 328i Wagon remains the least expensive variant of the 3 Series. The M3 Convertible will receive a new $5000 Individual Composition Package option with four unique paint colors and interior trim choices to help make it more distinct.

BMW 3 Series Sedan.

With the announcement of the sixth generation BMW 3 Series Sedan, the benchmark by which all sport sedans are measured just got raised. The pioneering history of the 3 Series serves as inspiration for the new sports sedan, whose powerful styling represents a fresh interpretation and conscientious development of traditional BMW design cues. It will not only set new standards for performance and handling but also for luxury, technology and efficiency as well.
The all-new BMW 3 Series Sedan arrives in ÚS showrooms in February 2012 as a 2012 model.
The new BMW face, wîth elongated BMW headlights reaching along as far as the BMW kidney grille, emphasizes the new BMW 3 Series' sense of width and strengthens its athletic overall profile. The sixth generation of the 3 Series has grown moderately in size compared to its predecessor, wîth its wide track (front + 37 mm/1.46 in., rear + 47 mm/1.85 in.) particularly prominent, and the car's length (+ 93 mm/3.66 in.) and wheelbase (+ 50 mm/1.96 in.) also accentuates its sporting allure. 2012 BMW 3-Series.

BMW has revealed the all new 2012 3-Series F30 Sedan. This is the sixth generation of the world's best-selling premium saloon. The car will hit the market in February next year and it will build on the current model's position as the ultimate drivers car in its sector. It will also be the most logical business proposition, thanks to new powertrains and additional EfficientDynamics fuel-saving, emissions-reducing technologies.
BMW F30 is larger and more spacious than E90. It is also lighter and quicker, more fuel-efficient; and more nimble and agile while even safer. There have been big steps forward in style, quality, comfort and specification for only a minimal price increase. A wider choice of trim levels and an extensive personalisation programme will allow 3 Series Saloon buyers to order virtually a bespoke car.
F30 continues to be the ultimate driver's car by featuring rear-wheel-drive layout, near-perfect 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution, agile chassis set-up and responsive engines.
The engine range includes a new four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol unit with whopping 245PS and 350Nm of torque. This engine is installed in 328i and replaces the six-cylinder 3.0-litre engines in the previous 325i and 330i. 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a staggering 44 mpg on combined cycle with CO2 emissions below 150g/km. The new unit features High-Precision Direct Injection, BMW's new TwinScroll turbocharging, Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing and VALVETRONIC variable valve opening technology. The other petrol engine on offer is the 3.0-litre six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo unit in the 335i.
The diesels are an improved 2.0-litre in 320d with 184PS and 320d EfficientDynamics with 163PS, which is capable of doing 68.9mpg fuel consumption and just 109g/km CO2. Previously only available as a manual, the 320d EfficientDynamics is also now available with the new 8-speed automatic transmission.
BMW News.

The BMW 3-Series is the brand’s bread and butter; it’s BMW’s highest-selling car. Not only are there sedans, coupes, convertibles and wagons, but there are also rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Additionally, there are several different motors. This means buyers have the choice of plain Jane, “that’s fast,” and “oh my!” With that said, we review the high-performance M3 separately.
For 2011, BMW gives the coupe and convertible some new cosmetic modifications to their front and rear. Additionally, BMW ditched the older twin-turbo setup in the 335i for a single turbo powerplant. Although it may sound like a bad idea for a performance car, don’t worry. The new engine makes the same power but is more fuel-efficient.
Also new for 2011 are a pair of new models, the 335is coupe and convertible. For 2011, BMW has pulled the old switcharoo as the standard 335i gets a single turbo motor while the 2011 335is retains the older, bi-turbo engine.
